The following is a brief outline of entry level positions typically available to qualified candidates. Individuals hired to an entry level position will generally be trained to support all or most of the tasks required to support the listed function. Construction Materials Testing Field Technician:
Perform on-site field Inspection and testing to confirm compliance with project documents of soils, forms, and rebar, for footings or slabs. Collect samples in the field during concrete placement following QA/QC standards.
Geotechnical Field Technician:
As a team member performs subsurface evaluation, soil sampling, and site condition observations of residential or commercial sites for suitability for development. Participate in mechanical drilling and hand boring methods, test pit observations, electrical resistivity surveys, and other methods suitable to gain subsurface information.
Laboratory Technician:
Prepare soil samples and perform laboratory testing for grain size analysis, water content, proctor values, California Bearing Ration values, Atterberg limits, Thermo-resistivity values, and other industry standard soil testing.
Environmental Field Technician:
Collect soil, water, air, or building material samples and submit them to a laboratory for contamination analysis. Prepare reports of the sampling event including maps of sample locations, conditions of area sampled, etc.
Natural Resource Field Technician:
As a team member, assist in the performance of wetland delineation, plant and mammal species and habitat identification for Federally and state-listed protected species, conducting surveys for archaeological/cultural conditions using ArcGIS, handheld Trimble GPS, topographic maps, and related tools. The position requires working outdoors in variable weather conditions, and the ability to work away from home for 1-2 weeks at a time.
Skills & Responsibilities Required:
· Ability to read and understand construction documents, maps, land surveys, and GIS data.
· Ability to use electronic field recording equipment.
· Good communication skills.
Education:
· BS degree in environmental science, earth science, soil science, wildlife biology, geology, structural geology, civil/geotechnical engineering, ecology, are typically suited for one or more of the above job descriptions.

Senior Technician / Special Inspector
Senior Technician / Special Inspector
This position is a working role that may occasionally direct and lead other technicians to fulfill multiple project testing demands. The position requires working in the field and performing testing in the lab. Experience in construction materials testing and documentation, laboratory testing, or construction project management is required. Candidates with commercial construction supervision or management experience is a plus.
Required Certifications:
- ACI field test technician
- ICC or NCDOT for soils, earthwork, roadway and/or asphalt
- Nuke Gauge Safety
- Laboratory testing of soils and concrete
Preferred Qualifications:
- ICC Certifications for masonry, spray-applied fireproofing, post-tension, structural concrete, wood framing, or other ICC categories.
- CWI certification
Skills & Responsibilities Required:
- Ability to read and understand maps, blueprints, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
- Document accurate and detailed field activity/inspections and report findings/diagrams to the clients and supervisors on a daily basis.
- Communicate daily with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers verbally and electronically.
- Use electronic field equipment for documenting and reporting inspections.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to lead, train, and schedule other technicians effectively.

Driller/Assistant Driller
This position involves a combination of fieldwork and office reporting, with primary responsibilities focused on geotechnical exploration, subsurface investigation, drilling operations, and material sampling.
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Driller, Assistant Driller, or Driller Helper to obtain quality subsurface samples safely and efficiently. Candidates without direct geotechnical drilling experience who have a background operating construction equipment are also encouraged to apply.
Required Certifications:
- Well Driller License/Certification (or capability to obtain with company training).
- CDL Driver’s License preferred (capability to obtain is required).
- OSHA 10-Hour certification
Key Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:
- Drilling & Subsurface Investigation
- Perform drilling and subsurface sampling using mechanical drilling and hand-boring methods.
- Execute deep soil sampling, rock coring, and shallow/deep foundation investigations.
- Assist in geotechnical exploration, including excavating test pits, soil sampling, and site observations.
- Assist with electrical resistivity surveys and other field investigation methods.
- Operate site-clearing tools and access equipment (e.g., chain saws, bush axes) to gain entry to boring locations.
- Equipment & Vehicle Operations
- Safely operate specialized heavy drill rigs, trailers, and excavating equipment.
- Drive company-provided vehicles, drill rigs, and trailers in compliance with IFTA/DOT guidelines.
- Prepare tools, equipment, and supplies for daily operations.
- Inspect, maintain, and perform routine mechanical servicing on drill rigs and trailers.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in geotechnical drilling, construction equipment operation, or field mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents.
- Strong communication skills and mechanical aptitude.

Position Overview
This is a dynamic, multi-faceted position designed for a self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous environment. You will be the power behind our documentation, tracking, and initial client interactions.
Over time, you will learn all aspects of our business to accurately generate, format, and finalize proposals and technical reports. Additionally, you will lead the charge in implementing AI tools to optimize our report-generation pipelines, improve proposal consistency, and track project timelines. This role bridges the gap between technical communication and front-office operations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Writing & AI Implementation
- Proposal & Report Generation: Write, format, and finalize comprehensive proposals, project estimates, and technical reports for geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and environmental services.
- AI Leadership: Evaluate, select, and integrate cutting-edge AI tools to streamline our writing processes, establishing structured templates and prompt workflows from the ground up.
- Critical Evaluation: Analyze and critique complex source materials, field data, and AI-assisted drafts to ensure strict technical accuracy, appropriate tone, and logical consistency.
- Diverse Content Creation: Handle documentation spanning a wide array of disciplines, including Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), endangered species surveys, wetland delineations, and archaeological/cultural resource evaluations.
Operations & Front-Desk Management
