Entry Level Positions
The following is a brief outline of entry level positions typically available to qualified candidates. Individuals hired to an entry level position will generally be trained to support all or most of the tasks required to support the listed function. The job descriptions are only an outline of the typical functions. Other job tasks not listed are likely to be included in work assignments.
Notes:
· Recent graduates with related college courses or laboratory testing experience and who have a capacity and willingness to learn through hard work are encouraged to apply.

Construction Materials Testing Field Technician:
Perform on-site field Inspection and testing to confirm compliance with project documents of soils, forms, and rebar, for footings or slabs. Collect samples in the field during concrete placement following QA/QC standards.
Geotechnical Field Technician:
As a team member performs subsurface evaluation, soil sampling, and site condition observations of residential or commercial sites for suitability for development. Participate in mechanical drilling and hand boring methods, test pit observations, electrical resistivity surveys, and other methods suitable to gain subsurface information.
Laboratory Technician:
Prepare soil samples and perform laboratory testing for grain size analysis, water content, proctor values, California Bearing Ration values, Atterberg limits, Thermo-resistivity values, and other industry standard soil testing.
Environmental Field Technician:
Collect soil, water, air, or building material samples and submit them to a laboratory for contamination analysis. Prepare reports of the sampling event including maps of sample locations, conditions of area sampled, etc.
Natural Resource Field Technician:
As a team member, assist in the performance of wetland delineation, plant and mammal species and habitat identification for Federally and state-listed protected species, conducting surveys for archaeological/cultural conditions using ArcGIS, handheld Trimble GPS, topographic maps, and related tools. The position requires working outdoors in variable weather conditions, and the ability to work away from home for 1-2 weeks at a time.
Skills & Responsibilities Required:
· Ability to read and understand construction documents, maps, land surveys, and GIS data.
· Ability to use electronic field recording equipment.
· Good communication skills.
Education:
· BS degree in environmental science, earth science, soil science, wildlife biology, geology, structural geology, civil/geotechnical engineering, ecology, are typically suited for one or more of the above job descriptions.
Physical Demands:
· Part of the job requirements and the physical demands include work performed outdoors in weather conditions with potential exposure to wet/humid conditions, extreme heat or cold, traversing uneven surfaces, and lifting supplies or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Senior Technician / Special Inspector
This position is a working role that may occasionally direct and lead other technicians to fulfill multiple project testing demands. The position requires working in the field and performing testing in the lab. Experience in construction materials testing and documentation, laboratory testing, or construction project management is required. Candidates with commercial construction supervision or management experience is a plus.

Civil Engineer/Civil Designer
Civil Engineer/Civil Designer
This position is for a hands-on experienced civil designer with advanced AutoCAD experience. Candidates should be proficient in civil planning using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Projects include a diversity of civil design, retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, wetland mapping, hydrologic and hydraulic models, and stormwater best management practices (BMPs) for residential or commercial site development, solar site development, roadway failures, and other related projects. This position requires in the field site conditions observation, installation inspection and verification, and occasional overnight travel.
